Don't know - I sold the 4-bolt block that came out of my 69 Vert (sold) for $200.. It was a original 69 Corvette Block - standard bore - HZ engine code and a late 69 Vette Vin number stamped on the block (like 32000 or so).
My 69' was originally a 300 HP 350 car with TH400 installed. The engine was the absolutely correct engine - exept that the VIN number stamped on the block was in the 32000's and the one on the car in the 23000's....

Just a generic block like a 3970010 with no special codes stamped or anything? and it needs to be bored? My guess is that it's probably worth about $50. Maybe $75. Small block chevys are EVERYWHERE and there's no shortage of junkyards that will sell a complete engine for $100 or so. 4 bolt mains are a little more difficult to come by, but not much.
Just my 2 cents.

Out here in Socal - at least the ;last time I was purchasing was about $1 / cubic inch for a complete motor (small block) - big block are different. So just a block - about $50-60 or whatever you can get.

I just paid $300 for a complete running 73 4 bolt truck engine. Sold the heads and tin for $150, the rebuilt dist for $50. That means I paid $100 for a short block needing rebuilding. Then I paid just under $1000 for the Summit forged kit, boil, bore, balancing etc.

Here in SW OK there is a little town called Roosevelt. You can buy SBC blocks (guaranteed rebuildable) all day, every day for under $100 and running (not great) for $250-$300.

I presume all the other replies are for a two piece rear main seal early block...a late truck factory roller type block with 4 bolt mains is about 3-400 bux.....needing rebuilt...but complete short block....

I was just curious what a decent price was. I was planning on selling a late model 350 4 bolt w/ 1 piece seal with a decent set of iron heads for $250.

Gm has a habit of tossing monkey wrenches into the works...and this is a perfect example...
in '86 they made a 4 bolt truck block with one piece rear main seal....AND, did NOT drill tap machine it for a factory roller cam...except for the one piece rear main...it's identical to the earlier castings....
SO that leaves '87 up in the iron blocks as being worth anything....
Now when I say 3-400 bux....I mean a complete short block....cam, lifters, keepers/retainer spyder....pan...and of course crank up to pistons...
what I call a short short block is no cam or lifters...
complete engine or LONG block is inclusing everything except carb/injectors...but has intake manifold....like GM sell them OTC....
