Transmission Swap 350 to 700
I have a 79 Vette, and replaced the original 350th transmission with a 700 R4 and also installed a B&M Converter Lockup; runs perfect but the speedometer i believe that is running higher than normal.
When i did all the changes, installed a Speedo Driven Gear 37 tooth (orange), trying to adjust the speedometer gauge.
Which Driven Gear (number of tooth)I should install for the swap 350 to 700?
Thanks
Alex

I suspect the speedo gear choice is dependent upon the gears in the rear. On a side note, how do you like the 700 conversion. Are you running stock gearing...likely 3.08s?

would have helped to check the gears on the output shaft of the orignial trans i would think.
also, i'm considering the same swap in my car. how hard was the conversion and what parts did you have to buy? what was the end cost?

was done by our friend who owns a miami well known transmission shop, the change worth twice you'll pay for. before the change at 85 m/h, engine was 4500 rpm, and after, about 2500. its fun to drive making noise, perfect for single guy; wife (not girlfriend) prefer AC, no noise, smooth ride, ...
