What Plugs and Wires for Dart heads
I am getting ready to make my last parts order, or at least that is what I told my wife.. Where can I find what Spark Plug Dart recommends on the SHP Aluminum heads I have? All Jegs lists is a 3/4" reach 5/8 gasketed hex.. I figured they would recommend a brand or at least model to go with or temp range..
What do you all recommend that wont break the bank?
Do I need to coat the threads with anything to keep corrosion to a minimum.
Also, any thing to stay away from on the wires?
Im running FloTech headers if that makes a difference in what wires I should run as far as material and boot type.
Thanks

They would know best
Dart Aluminum here, Autolite 3924 Wires will depend on your cap. Using 90s on mine with 1-3/4 headers

IMHO any high-quality spiral-core 8mm or 8.5mm plug wire should work. Several companie make wire kits. I always use anti-seize compound when I'm putting together dissimilar metals like steel and aluminum.

Dart emailed me back. Said to contact NGK.... Thought that was odd..
Since I am running full length headers, don't I need a short style plug so the wires clear the header?

3924s are short
Accell makes one a touch shorter they say never tried them.
Put just a little bit of antiseize on the threads. Go easy on torquing them down with that stuff.
Had good luck with the Summit street/strip 8mm wires. AFfordable but pull on/off a bazillion times and the ends dont come off.

I called Dart twice and got two different snaswers from them.
First time they told me to call NGK. So I did. They wanted to know my C.R. (9.2) and what degree my timing was at, which I do not know because I have not installed the motor yet. That call they recommended the NGK BKR5E plug. I called back and spoke to a different person who explained that recommended the BKR6E plug. I guess the difference between the two are the temp ranges. One is a Cool to Medium and the other a Medium to Hot.
Then I called Dart again and they directed me to Autolite this time. So Autolite checked their books and did not find the SHP heads listed at all. But the in the end they recommended a 3924 plug...
What temp range plug would I want for a street/cruise car?
