**Distributor Guys** - Mechanical Advance Bushing...
Got my 1969 TI distributor nearly 100% assembled and I noticed that there was a small crack on weld that holds the small advance curve plate to the top of the main distributor shaft. This is the small plate in the center with 2 prongs that accept the inside of the mechanical advance springs and the advance bushing on the under side of one prong.
In anycase, I tried my best while brazing the crack but I ended up smoking my stock 43 year old nylon advance bushing. How do you install a new bushing?
My Accel advance weight came with a brass one but I couldn't get any details on how to swap it in the instructions. The MSD Kits actually come with 3 different sized bushings.
It seems like the bushing's ID is too big and it just slides off the bottom of the advance bushing post. Is there supposed to be a C-clip with the kit that goes around the bottom of the post in the groove to hold the bushing on or something? There was nothing on the bottom holding on my stock nylon bushing. It seemed like it was a snap on type bushing that fit just a little bit loose.

I think there should be a retaining clip if theres a groove for one.

don't get me wrong, I completely respect that you wanted to fix it yourself, but brazing a small part like that is sort of a brute force approach in the hands of all but the most skilled brazers.
