A/C experts....Please advise
I havent used the air in 6 weeks or so and I notice tonite that the compressor has a squeal from the front side for about 5 seconds when I turn on the A/C.
But now, there is no cold air. The low side is reading 29 PSI, and the head pressure is 188. With the compressor off, the low side is 60.
This is a retro 134 system about 2 years ago.
Any ideas why no cold AC????
By the way, the evap. inlet tube does not get cold, but the high side lines are quite warm.
Thanks

Sounds to me like you're low on refrigerant, probably because it's leaking out somewhere. Common problem on conversions if they didn't replace the o-rings.

Do you know what the correct pressure should be? I'm not sure if the or rings were actually changed or not.

Low side should be about 26-28 with R134a so you pressures sound about right. Here's a link to an A/C forum... http://www.ackits.com/cgi-bin/ultima...start_point=35
