Default rear composite spring

I'm working on a 76 with a composite rear spring, their is aluminum spacer between the spring and the center mounting plate and it is cracked. Is it needed, cause I can't seem to find one? It fits the mounting plate, holes in it for the bolts.

Yes, it's needed. That plate, and the one on the underside of the spring, are the restraining and load-taking mounting surfaces for it. They are flat and smooth, so they don't create any high-stress points where the spring is mounted. If there is a high-stress spot contacting the spring, it will just start a crack and quickly fail the spring.

Is there a reason you didn't consider welding, or halving it welded? Have you determined that it is made from T7075 grade and cannot be welded?
