Default Willcox New Video: Door Hinge S-Spring Installation 68-82

Hi everyone-

It's been a very busy day to say the least. Today we completed two new videos and started two more....

Hopefully tomorrow I'll be finished with the long awaited Power Steering Control Valve Rebuild Video. It's on the table being edited and boy did it need some work. Translation: If it could have gone wrong it would have.

My hopes were to have the power steering video done tonight but it just wasn't meant to be. Personally I mentioned to the employee's and my wife about possibly putting together a video on goof's.. just for laughs and I still may do this....

Anyway.. I hope you all enjoy this one and it may take some of the questions out of the mix for installing those pesky Springs. Tomorrow during the daytime I will edit it one final time adding notes as the video progress's.

As always, have a great day.

Ernie

Thanks Ernie, Is that installation tool the same one you sale on your website? I guess that's all I lack from being able to install the spring that I have.

Nice video, Ernie. Great idea to demonstrate on a bare hinge. I tried to video replacing it with the door on and I just couldn't get a good angle to record it. By the way, I got the springs from you and they fit perfectly without grinding.

Awesome dem video! I could have used that 7 weeks ago when I was installing the spring. Hardest part for me was trying to figure out what the bent screwdriver was used for. I tried every combination and then put the driver where it needed to be and within seconds had the spring in place. Snip, snap, done! A little lube and now my drivers door doesn't crush my shin or ankle anymore.

Thank you all.. But... you should watch it again!

Today I finished the annotations and adding them should help understanding the installation even more.

You guys are going to love the power steering valve video.. I'm still working on it.. but it is going to be a good one.

If anything, I would think these may make it easier to get in/out of the car when people insist of parking close to you, making it difficult to open your door all the way.

It does help keep the door open that's for sure. Without it the door is all nilly ***** and will come back on you.

Willcox needs to change the video. The 2 1/4 inch they talk about the spring being to long has nothing to do with the spring fitting correctly. The bottom loop is longer than an original spring but doesn't affect the fit. If you cut the end off they talk about it for sure wont fit. The critical measurement is from the end on the top loop to the end on the bottom loop, and this is perfect on the aftermarket springs.
