By far your conversion looks the most interesting one for now ;-)

Thanks
Robert
I pic was added to the same album and has nothing to do with the light conversion.
The motor I used is from a tractor trailer moto mirror, the gear I had laying around and dont know where it came from so my electric wiper door might be a one off conversion

I am interested in doing the head light conversion. Does the C3 light switch harness plug fit the C4 switch, or do you need to reconnect the harness to a C4 plug?

Yep the socket fits the C4 switch, you do have to add a wire and terminal to the rear terminal on the switch.

Add a wire to the C3 harness? Or is this one of the switching wires to the head light motor that I'll add? Please tell me more about said wire.

Yes, see my diagram, there are 2 wires you must add for up and down control. Also you need a fused hot wire to the motors, I took my hot off my starter but you can get it from the alternator hot also.

How about a detail drawing of the headlight motor brackets and a parts list.....

I did get slightly better service from using a tie wrap around the shaft on the second set.....

I bought a pair of 93-97 probe head light motors on eBay and received them today. I didn't notice when I bought them that the offset arm was not included. I am going to fab a pair of arms, but I'm not sure how well they will seat on the tapered spline shaft. We will see what happens. Anyway, something to watch out for if you are considering buying some head light motors. Other then that the project looks promising. Dave

And you paid how much for that China crap seal.

I am very busy lately, I will post more on the lights soon, looking at Sunday

Finished! A big thanks to TOM B1 for the inspiration and the wiring diagram and info. The lights cycle up and down pretty quickly now.
I bought a pair of used probe headlight motors from a junkyard on ebay for 29.74 each + shipping. Mine were marked R and L by the seller. Anyway, I had to install them opposite on my 80' Vette. Mine didn't come with the offset actuator arms so I fabbed some aluminum billet ones. I used a hole spacing of 1.450" and it was perfect for my car. I drilled one end .358 dia and forced it on the tapered spline using the nut to drive it. The other end I drilled and tapped 5/16-18 for a shoulder bolt. I reused the rod ends off the old vacuum actuator and used 5/16-18 X 5 3/4" long threaded rod for a connecting rod. From Ace hardware I got 3/8" dia x 1/2" shoulder bolts (5/16" threads). I got a pair of stop collars (bushings with set screws to lock them to a shaft) 1"OD x 1/2" ID x7/16" with 1/4 set screws that I removed and tapped the holes out to 5/16-18 to fit the connecting rod. I also bought 2 nylon bushings 1/2" OD x3/8" ID to line the stop collars. Anyway it all works great for now, we'll see if it lasts. I might try to get a photo bucket account and put some pics up. For the wiper conversion.. any chance of knowing wich model of motor you used for the conversion?... The gears I suppose I could get out maybe from an old crappy drill or something... Got my probe 95 lights for headlight conversion ;-) Nice work..

Would love to see some pics of your instal. I would love to rid my engine compartment of all the vacuum parts clutter.

Good work Dave.
Im glad some one tried it and it worked for them.
The install and wiring is pretty simple because you dont need that crappy module.
One the wiper motor conversion I am working on a motor that you dont need a gear like I have, but still be hidden like mine.

Default probe headlight motor

tom, few questions for you. why use the c4 headlight switch? with reference to you elctrical diagram, is the 4 wires on bottom right, is that the pig tail on the actuator? does the c4 headlight switch fit our c3's? or do I have to mod the harness on the car side of switch?

cool idea...thinking about doing this...
