Default 3963569 alum intake or torker II

Which heads and intake would be better for a BB 496. My max rpm would be 6500 with solid lifters. I know the 569 is rectangular and the torker is oval. I have both intakes and the torker looks like the air flow would be less restrictive going to the heads. I want to be able to fit under a stock BB hood.

First of all the intake ports and the head ports need to match. The TII is about a worthless manifold right along with many of the older Edl designs. They are not a tuned port. They are just air flow holes with little thought put into them.

The LS-6 was noval for it's day 40 years ago and would be of some value to a LS_6 clone mobile.

496 ci is a big volume to feed. I would look for matching heads and a modern intake of some air gap design

If you have rectangular ports and want to stay under the stock hood, the 3963569 is the way to go.

The Torker II is not very good. A stock GM oval port manifold works better, imo.

I've a LS6 intake on a 427 with a bit of gear on it, have managed to squeeze a 1 inch space on top wit 3 inch drop base, under stock BB hood

Let's go back to the head choice first. What are you planning and how many $$ are you able to spend on the heads?

Are you willing to spend some time porting the LS-6 intake?

How much power do you want?

Jim, I was thinking maybe the AFR2101-1 325cc/119 with CNC ported chamber. How do you port the intake would I match the intake gasket from the heads and then mark the intake and take a die grinder and grind the intake port to match? Also would I need to do any grinding on the top side of the intake where the carb sits this is a dual plane intake. Thanks
