Default Brakes clunking or sticking?

Hey guys i have an issue. It seems that after a hard 4 wheel lock up avoid an accident, i now have an issue with brake noise. once i come to a complete stop, and release the brakes i get a clunking sound. It doesnt do it while applying the brakes while driving, only after you come to a complete stop. Any idea what may be causing this now?

Sounds like the diff snubber, real easy fix. But first I would take all the wheels off and look at the brakes and see if there is anything loose or damaged, if you don't have springs behind the pistons you can easily remove the pads and see if there is any damage to pads or calipers

well its not the snubber, this is a mechanical sound, not a thump or thud. i wonder if its a bad caliper or loose brackets

After a short drive, carefully inspect each wheel to see if one seems warmer. If a piston is bound-up, you will feel the excessive heat from it dragging, or inspect the pads like described above. I had a similar problem years ago. Sometimes a piston gets seized in there, esp. during a panic stop, and esp. with those "zero-tolerance" calipers out there. I was able to fix mine on the cheap, thanks to a quick call to VBP and a do-it-yourself rebuild kit. They even walked me through the process over the phone.

I had a truck with positraction That made a loud bang when I came to a stop. The differential lube needed changed from what I understand the clutches were binding. Just a thought.

Well Mike i owe you a coffee or a dinner if we ever meet, i would of never thought to look there. The driver side upper control arms were loose slightly, and the pass side were backed off and the shims completely gone. Called shop that did the work, and was very polite, they said to me that this can happen, and will make it right. The work was done 2 yrs ago, and took this long to show itself? I only put 1000 km on the car since then. hope it didnt do any real damage to anything else?

Glad you found it. No permanent damage was done, just get it realigned.
