Default Cam selection.

I am wondering if anyone here runs a 219/228 duration @ .050 110 lsa roller cam? What should i expect vacuum reading at 750 RPMS? Any issues with this cam? I am thinking of swaping out my cam for this one and wondering if its to small for my 350 or should i go with a bigger cam. It seems a bit on the small side of anything i ever ran in the past. Im not sure if this cam will have any rumble to it. Please advise.

What is your compression ratio? What gears? Who makes that cam? Whats the valve lift?

My compression ratio is 9.2:1. The gears im running is 3.73 . Im not sure who made the cam. The valve lift is .495/.510 but im running 1.6 ratio rocker arms so lift will be more. Im running performer RPM heads with exhaust manifolds.

I'd think that being a roller cam you could go a little larger and retain vacuum, but also think that this camshaft would work fine for mild street applications depending on the intended use. You didn't mention transmission or if applicable stall converter. It's not far off from the xe 262 h with more lift and with out knowing the cam maker and ramp rates I'd guess 15" hg in neutral.

Thanks bluedawg, i am runnung the original turbo 400 with 2000 stall converter which was my maim concern, if i didnt need the converter i would remove it. As i mentioned earlier the cam seems on the small side do you think it would have any thump. I like to have some lopey sound even though i realize im giving up top end performace over my current cam thats in the motor . On the cam manufacture, i believe its one of GM aftermarket cam. The 219/228 duration @ .050 might be the best cam on paper but my gut is telling me otherwise. I generally drive between the 2000 - 5500 RPM range but worried about mid range to top end and these number almost scare me on that aspect.

I run the LT4 Hot cam on a clone zz430 . Its specs are close to what your looking at. 218/228 @ .050 and 525/525 with 1.6 rollers. I am at 112 LSA , Does it thump at idle , I would say not really it sounds deep and heavy with a touch of thump but nothing like a thumper cam as an example. But your going 110lsa ,, so that should have a noticeable thump in its idle more so then my cam.

As far as power 2000 to 5500 it pulls hard you have no doubt your raising he!! when your pushing it. To me the cam specs your asking about should be pretty good for the street and make good power as well as give you an idle that says I have a cam in here
