New member, have a 79 with 350 manual 4 speed, have a full flywheel/bellhousing back full drive train out of the 94 series LT1 zf6... is this a doable adaption? 1st time corvette project, lucked into the zf6 for a song, so could afford some additional costs to make it right. Looking for some street ability, and keep the 3.73 gear?

You can do anything. I know a guy that put a 454 in a Corvair. The question is, how much work are you willing to put into it?

thank you for the link... and yes I am willing to put the work into it.. put a 454 into an internation scout once myself..great ride..no style, lol

You might be better off selling the ZF to a C4 owner and putting a T56. The T56 needs a shifter relocation to fit the stock console but it's nothing a hacksaw and a welder can't fix.

I'm not sure if you need a hydraulic clutch with any of the newer transmissions but that is something that is relatively easy to do also.

my thanks to those that replied to my question, good advise on all fronts. I have posted unit for sale and will pull my horns in on this project and go the t56 route.
