1976 Removing the body from the frame
I need tofind info on the best way to remove the body of of my 76, it has been sitting for 20+ years and I want to start the restoration. Any suggestions or pointers and web site or threads that anyone knows might help me would be appreciated. It was my wife's car back in the 80's so its a must do.
Thanks

A lot depends on the work space you have. Is it high enough to get an "a-frame" rig over the car? If so, nylon slings are available from several of the Corvette supply houses, just for this job. Do you have some sort of fixture to hold the body once it's off?
Just a couple of thoughts to get the discussion started...

Mark your shims! I used a chainfall and nylon straps to lift and built a truck for the body out of lumber so I could move it around and out of the way. The balance point was about at the firewall.
