Default MC and Brake Bleed

Helping out my neighbor bleeding his breaks. He took off the MC to detail it and then just put it back on w/o bench bleeding it. He filled up the MC and then asked me to come over and push the peddle while he bleed each brake. I did not know that he had removed the MC and that he did not bench bleed it. After doing each wheel, his brake light remains on which tells me that he has air in the system still.

Should he remove the MC and start over by bench bleeding it and then do all the wheels again or since he already introduced all that air from the MC into the system, should he just keep bleeding the wheels until it all works out?

Ideally yes.
The rusted area in the bore is where there was previously air in the system. Very common with this master.
