New Body Mount Selection...
Hey Guys,
Getting ready to set my body back on the chassis of my '69 coupe and I'm looking at body mounts and mount kits. Trying to keep the car as original as possible. Who makes a good "all inclusive" mount kit that is correct including shims? I guess these are supposed to be aluminum like my old corroded ones? Also is aluminum the best way to go or should I just do aluminum where you can see and the rest as poly?
Thanks!
Rick

Hi Rick,
The larger vendors all sell complete body mount kits that include the bolts, washers, nuts, pucks, and shims.
I don't think it makes much sense to do the rubber pucks in the 4 places they can't be seen since the body would still be pulled down tight on to the aluminium pucks which would defeat the purpose of the rubber pucks.
Regards,
Alan

Alan is correct. I bought mine from Willcox, less than $100.00

I chose, to go with Poly body mounts,
I considered solid alum. and rubber,
I thought Poly was the best compromise for my 69.
the old orginal alum. were crumbling away.

Burning Brakes
Going to do the same to my 78 but currently doing a LS swap so going to keep my mods to the front end. I see kits that include everything, bolts, shims ext. Then other kits for $100 less that don't include the bolts. What am I missing? $100 for bolts and shims.

Hi d,
Not sure where you were looking.
It looks to me like the kits... cushions, bolts, nuts, shims, and washers are about $130. While the cushions only are about $70.

Alan
