Default 1982 Corvette Gas Mileage

Hello,

I am looking to buy a 1982 corvette, and I have no idea on what it's gas mileage is. Can anyone tell me what the mpg on a 1982 Corvette is?

With a properly tuned and maintained crossfire system 12-20mpg depending on driving habits 20 being at it's best at constant 60mph in overdrive. If you are a novice to Vettes I would not recommend a 82. If this a car you must have please make sure someone who is knowledgeable about Corvettes and crossfire injection check it out with you! Good Luck!

I know that when I had a brand new '84 [with the exact same CrossFire engine system], I got 20 mpg at 100 mph!

I think when you drive it normally, around town, you will get around 20+. On the highway, you will get 25 or so.

When driving reasonably on the freeway, I can get 26 mpg.

Don't be afraid of the 82 CFI. It is only a matter of understanding the engines systems in relation to the CPU programming. I did not have any knowledge of the CFI engine when I first acquired the car and have since learned a great deal just by conversing my issues with those on this forum. My engine runs perfect, idles great and has adequate power for normal driving. I am averaging 17-20 mpg around town. It is a great car. It is a mystery only to those that don't understand it...and I like that. Keep it clean. Keep it tuned. Use good gas and drive it daily. Dive in and drive on!

Use my 82 as a "dd", runs really well, get 20 mpg or better depending on the amount of stop & go driving I'm in on the way home. Drive 95 miles per day commute to and from work. Enjoy that 82.....Tom
