Shmoky.. I'm sorry... Not a typo... But once we lick this one the 68 will be a breeze.

No problem Ernie. Just giving you a hard time. I expect the 68 would cause some extra grief and figured you would tackle it eventually.

It's the ungodly wiper motor.. every motor from 1963-1967 and 1969-1982 work on the same basis.. The 68 oh... it had to be different.. LOL

Interested in this for my '75. I have a JC Whitney module sitting on the garage shelf but never got started on the project. Love to have someone else figure out all the issues. LOL.

Ernie,

I've had my '77 for 36 years, and I've wanted intermittent wipers for 36 years. I can certinly wait 6 more months if you can deliver!!! Please keep me informed.

Just found this thread, Ernie.

I don't necessarily avoid rainy days, per se and have driven scores of miles through storms. It's a trade off to owning a driver when crossing from city to city, state to state.

Having the intermittent wiper would have been a real upgrade so count me among the interested, if you end up producing this for sale.

I'll monitor the thread for when you have price and availability prepared. Thanks for the offer!

I'm trying to figure out the timing on this. I don't want the arms to park so I'm trying to come up with a way to sense the arm location. The 78-82 motors has a resistor and a rub pad for this but cars made prior won't be able to run this. I have a few good ideas so I'll keep you guys updated...

The delay works fine, but I'm worried it could lose place without some sort of sensor.

Cool idea, but I never drive my vette in the rain. But then a haven't driven it in over 6 months. Steering column bearing went out and have had the time to replace them.

Default Delay Wipers

Hello Ernie:

I drive my 74 every day, rain or shine, and was looking for a solution elsewhere before I ran across this old thread.

Did you ever come up with a solution? What was the proposed cost?

Of course, I would be interested in buying a unit or two for my cars.

That would be of interest to me as well. Any time I get caught in the rain (or heavy fog in the SF Bay aea), I pull the valve under the dash and leave the door open just to save wear & tear. I would want my '72 to remain as original as possible, but do admit that I enjoy some of the enhancements in technology in the last 40 years.

We are struggling with this.... well were not really struggling... we swayed a bit.

1) Timing the arms to stay in sync. The 1978-1982 cars with pulse wipers had a sweep contact switch on the washer pump.... This is not dead in the water... yet...

2) We swayed back to what got us on this in the first place, the 1978-1982 pulse modules. There seems to be an issue with getting them, so we are going back to our original plans to make a better mouse trap first. Then we'll figure a way around the timing for cars that don't have switch on the washer pump.

got caught out in the rain yesterday on our club run,
not enough for them to be on constantly, to much to leave them off.
i had the door override in the up position, and had to lean forward to flick the switch on/off.
really anoying on bumpy winding roads.....

almost a year has past, any update on this mod?

Ernie:

Where are you on this project? Finding a 22010544 wiper motor cover is impossible.

Bad news..

We had another project on the cooker and put this one off until the other one was finished.

Nov. 1st we released the new adjustable resistor for the temperature gauges 1965-1967, 1968-1976 and 1977-1982.

So we'll have time to re-visit this soon. I'll put this back on the development table tomorrow.

Well, it looks like you will miss this season. I'm going to have to put the top up before you have this available.

I must have missed this thread on the first go round, I'd be interested even though I don't drive mine in the rain but I have been caught off guard a couple of times and got wet anyway

Okay.. looks like the interest is there.. we'll re-visit this in full swing soon... It's tabled, and we'll discuss this again soon. I have it tabled on our white board.. and that is where everything gets a start.

I remember that the '68 wiper motor was causing problems....will you develop a delay for it?
