Any Interest in a Add-on Delay Wiper Kit? Please give us your input!
Hey everyone-
I'm kicking around the idea of making an add-on pulse wiper accessory kit for cars without pulse wipers and would work on 1963-1967 and 1969-1977 cars. My goal with this is to make it so that no factory wires have to be cut. (they will have to be un-pinned from the connector but not cut), and make it as hidden as possible.
I'll base my decision from the feedback in this post. So.. anyone interested?

Ernie, I think it is a great idea. My 82 has the pulse system and as a "dd" it's a pleasure. So I would be interested in a unit for my 74.

Not really. They work at present...and I don't drive in the rain except in unexpected situations.

I probably have more info on the wiper motors and issues on my site than all other post, threads and help pages everywhere else combined.. Post up a thread on here and I'll take a look at it..

I actually did that about three years ago, and the info you gave me was quite educational. The real problem (I believe) is my new Corvette America dash pad...it's too "fat" in the middle and the underside is fouling the wiper switch, preventing it from working properly. A little persuasion with a die grinder should do the trick I think...

I'm not sure how the dash pad could cause the wipers not to work? If the switch is mounted in the plate and the wire connector is on the switch it really shouldn't cause an issue. Do you have a link to the thread? Or pics I can take a look at?

But... there is always a butt.... My plans are to make this so that all you would have to do is remove the wiper switch plate, switch some wires in the original harness's (at both ends), run a wire though the firewall to the motor connector and be ready to roll.
I've got a meeting planned for tomorrow on this and I already have the program for the processor ready to roll from another (not vette) venture of mine.
It is very do-able... I just need to know if there is a demand for it...

birdsmith....
FYI... It IS possible to install the wiper switch "upside-down". And, if you do, it won't work properly. (not saying that's your problem)
P.S. Temecula, CA is where my '71 coupe spent 34 years with one family, before I purchased it.

He should go to the help and repair file on my site.. it shows a pic of the connector installed correctly. (and one with it on backwards)..

Great idea! Been looking for something aftermarket for the '76 - count me in.
As riverracer au said, it you could make it so the wiper door doesn't have to keep opening/closing - I would want one for the '69 as well.

I put intermittent wipers on my '72, complete with operating door, about 18 years ago.....I had to modify the bezel for a pushbutton for the washer, a pot/switch in place of the switch, and another switch to go from int/slo to full on high speed.....
Since then, I went linear motor for the door operation, instead of that old vacuum pot gig.....did that about 5 years ago.....
