Any good differential builders in driving distance of South Jersey?
In a month or so I will be getting ready to pack up one hell of a big heavy box with my differential to send it off to VanSteel to be completely rebuilt. I know the shipping is going to be murder... Can anyone recommend someone within driving distance of Southern New Jersey that has a reputation and warranty that of Van Steel that can do the work instead? Probably the same question for the trailing arms, I will want them done as well.
I know there are quite a few members in this area, thought I would ask around and see who is local...
thanks!

Try giving Glen a call at Hillside Corvette in Bridgewater. I know he does trailing arms and I think he does rears too. I can tell you that he's done trailing arms for other Forum members, and they've been happy with the results. Besides repairing and restoring Corvettes, Glen builds and maintains road race Corvettes, as well as race them himself. He's a Forum member too, but I think he stays in the racing, C5 and C6 sections mostly. From what I've seen, his prices are reasonable too.
The number there is 732-469-0808.

Ray that is a cool thread! Thanks for sharing... I'm looking to go the original/resto route to put the right differential back in my 68 L68. Also got your pm and responded.
gbvette thanks for the tip, he's about 90 miles from me so that's definitely do-able.

I was considering going that route, but realistically all I needed was a stock rebuilt rear diff... Gary does AWESOME work but for me it was way too expensive to have him do it.. my restoration is basically all stock and the stock rear lasted 40 years! and that's all I really need.

disassembled, cleaned, beadblasted and paint differential case and rear cover, checked ring and pinion, and side yokes, cleaned and reassembled carrier with new bearings, clutches, seals etc...
my ring and pinion, and side yokes were fine, so all he did was a rebuild of my rear.
