Default spark plug gap?

what is the correct spark plug gap for a L82 motor with cap in coil HEI distributor, mild cam, intake and carb?
.035" or .045"?

Posts 10 and 13 are good reads. .040-.045 seem to be just about right.

actually for performance .035 is the best for both electronic and points...those wider gaps were used for the 1970`s emissions solutions and they were stumbling all over the board up to .080 and catalytic converters.....

Always ran my race stuff at .038 showed good #s on the dyno too
