Where do you get a M18 X 1.50 Metric Tap?
I recently had a couple bungs welded into my headers for O2 sensors. The threads shrunk down slightly when the bungs were welded so I need to run a tap through to open them up before I have them Jet-Hot coated. I haven't been able to find a tap. Any ideas?

You might get lucky at Home depot or something like tha tbut your better off finding a supplier who works with machine shops. I sell some cutting tools but not taps so I deal with industrial distributers all the time. They usually don't like to sell 1 tap but you might be able to work with them. Grainger should carry all the taps you need if they are local to you.

I don't know if this helps at all but, the 18x1.5mm thread is the same one that is used in the power steering gear pressure ports (gear inlet port) on the modern GM integral power steering recirculating ball steering gears (since 1980) and all of the GM rack and pinion power steering gears.

Here is the answer ... thanks to someone here at work that recently did this :
Autozone (and perhaps other cheesey stores) has it.
Look for a sparkplug thread chaser - in the 'HELP' display.
It is double ended, but one is the 18x1.5.

Or NAPA as a spark-plug tap. I bought one from them and tapped a cast-iron manifold when I put TPI on my 83 truck.

Don't even bother with Home Depot or Lowes. They don't have ANY metric taps, and very few standards.

I have one if you want to borrow it. I can mail it to you and you can send it back when you are done with it.

Metric Tap Option
Autozone has a M18x1.5 Thread Chaser for O2 sensors. It has a hex wrench head and a 3/8" socket head. Fits in tight spots and aligns well with 3/8" ratchet. The brand is OEM and part number 25255. Price is $10.
There are a bunch of these also by other manufacturers. Here is a link to some through Amazon:
