No idea about the tool. I'm not sure how well it worked anyway, others here will know, I just pull the tower and adjust. I do remember reading somewhere about an owner using one of the flexible shaft screwdiver tools and fashioning a bit for the "D" shape of the FPR adjusting screw. As for getting fuel back to the tb's, just let it prime and crank it for a few seconds, it doesn't take much to pressurize the lines.

I changed to the '85 fuel pump, changed the fuel filter and added a FP gauge between the TBs.

How do I get the new pump to run more than 2 seconds after I turn the key on - to get fuel back through the lines & to the TBs?
Bart, there is a cap under the throttle body that has to be removed before you can adjust the fuel pressure. Let me look in my garage and see if I can find my tool. If DCS is out of business I would be happy to send you my tool so you can make the adjustment just please send it back if that works for you ? Cory

Default update!!!

Hello everyone!!!
Some minor additions to the "sticky" including an available TB rebuild service offered by a vendor. Check post #1 for details if that type of service is needed.
Also have to update with the latest threads involving our CFI's.
Again, if anyone has additions or suggestions, send me a PM....
And thanks to everyone as we are at almost 33,000 views in 2 years 3 months....
Thanks.................................. ...Tom

Hello again everyone, basically a repeat post as above. Some more threads listed for a quick reference whenever needed.
And approaching 35,000 views....
I am always hoping and assuming that in some way or another the "sticky" does or continues to help us in keeping our CFI's running the best that they can and lasting for a very long time.
As always, if you have something to contribute regarding the CFI and some of the unique parts that are only for our 82's, please do....
It will help make our "sticky" one of the most comprehensive sources of info and references for all 82 owners.... Thanks......Tom

Part numbers to add:

Driveshaft U-Joints: Spicer 5-1310X

Halfshaft U-Joints: Spicer 5-1350X

Both part numbers are available at Summit and other vendors.

Thanks Marc, parts are added.....
Although there is a slight difference with the Length of the MOOG & Spicer Driveshaft joints.....3.312" compared to 3.219" a difference of
0.093", I would imagine that would not be a problem using either joint.

I have a set on order from Summit. We're swapping the rear out in two weeks, I'll report back if the size difference is an issue.

Sounds good, thinking about getting a spare set from them, just to have around. Looking forward to your review.....

Default Turn signal/cruise stalk.

HOLY CRAP! Has anyone tried to find a turn signal lever for an '82 with cruise? Mine is cracked and can slip out when you click it to dim or go the high beam.

I've called all over the country trying to find one today. The GM part # is 25031169. Anyone have a used one in good shape that they would sell? I CAN NOT find a new one.

It seems that the only 2 years that used that stalk were '81-82. GM dropped them years ago and there are no aftermarket replacements.

I thought that me and Google could find anything. I was wrong!

I want to fix it right but it's starting to look like JB Weld may be my only choice. The steering column is already apart and I need one soon or I will have to rig something to work. Any advise is much appreciated.

Looking for a little guidance, if you look up a few posts you'll see that I lent a member my fuel pressure adjustment tool. That was back in May. Have sent a few emails and have recieved only 1 reply several weeks ago. He mentioned back surgery but no replies since then. Still no tool. Suggestions? Makes me feel I should have kept my mouth shut and not made the offer.

Don't know if there is much to do now, if you loan a tool again get a cash deposit.
Hopefully he will send it back soon.
