What tire would you recommend for original 15x8 rally wheels?
I have a 72, and 15x8 Rally wheels. What would you suggest is the best tire for street driving, not driving at the track.
Thanks

On my 80 I ran 255/60/15 in both BFG T/A and Firestone 500. The Indy 500's had a better ride, better traction, handled better and were great in the rain. Still not a performance tire though.

I would say the BFG T/A's are a popular choice for street driving. There are not too many options to choose from in a 15 inch performance tire any more. Fewer manufacturers are making 15 inch tires these days. I've personally decided to upgrade to 18"x8" wheels which allow for a much larger selection of true performance tires. Just my opinion.

I have BFG's on my Corvette and Firestone "Indy 500s' on my other hotrod. The Firestones work way better under any circumstance than the BFG's, but for some reason the same size Firestones are noticeably taller than BFG's. I have 255/60s in the back of each car, and the Firestones look tall and skinny compared to the BFG's.
What I'm saying is that if you want tires that look cool, get the BFG's. If you want tires that handle and ride the best, I recommend the Firestones. BTW, I'm keeping the BFG's on my Vette...

Thanks everyone...I went with BFG Radials... If you are looking for a good deal merchants tire was 585 installed before tax. For me it was 615 out the door.
