Default Rear end gear ratio

Stupid question but how do I determine the gear ratio of my 73? The rear end is sitting on the garage floor: it was an auto if that helps?

3.08 was an available diff gear in '73, so, there you go. What sort of tranny are you ordering? My '80 has a 3.07 diff, (close enough to 3.08) and I'm doing a 700r4 swap.

I'm getting a 700R4 also. I've bought from BTO and they are great trannies. Just bought my ZZ4 from jegs and it should be here Friday. Powder coated the frame and it also should be done Friday. Now it's getting fun!

Yep, there's always that part of the project where you're just forking over money and sending things off..........but later, when all that stuff starts coming back.........it's like Christmas morning! You said it, buddy, that's when the fun starts! Good luck!
