Default Pics from my "DRIVE YOUR CORVETTE TO WORK DAY" (dialap beware)

I took my Vette today to work... on the way to work I got into one of those tropical downpours.... :(.. Took me a lot of cleaning to clean the Vette when arriving at work. After work I went with a co-worker - who took his Vette to work too - to the Tower Shops. The weather was nice first but at about 8:15 PM we had another heavy rainfall and most of the cars took off.. I waited until the rain stopped and drove home....

Here are some pics!!

Sweet pics! I showed my girlfriend your vette the other day, and she blurted out "Now that's a sweet vette, do you have more pix?"

You have to have an outstanding vette for her to say that! Your engine looks amazing Oliver. Excuse me while I pick my jaw up off the floor...

I also liked the C4 style hood. It's just so much easier to work on the engine compartment!

There is a good chance that we will meet one day... I drive my Vettes a lot. However - mostly between fall and spring. Summer is just too wet in South Florida!! (and I hate the cleaning after the rain...)

OMFG I love your 68. How hard is it to install that whole front end hydrolic hood looking thingamajig (that is the technical term).

And that engine is gorgeous, see my picture for further questions....

I don't really know what you mean with "hydrolic hood looking thingamajig"

I got the steelflex radiator hoses with polished aluminum ends at JEGS
http://www.jegs.com

or here is the direct link to the product!

I bought the master cylinder cover at AUTOZONE.

By hydrolic looking hood thingamajig I meant the fact that your whole front end opens like that. I've seen it before on other vettes where the quarterpanels lift up as well, but I've never seen it look as good as yours does with it. Did chevy ever do this, or is this a custom mod? And how much work is it if its not a stock feature?

Hey Olivier,
Sorry I didn't get to say goodbye on Friday. I hid in my friends car until the rain stopped. When I went back to the vette I saw your car covered, but you weren't around and I had to run to Orlando right afterwards. Olivier, again I have to say your car is impressive and words cannot begin to explain what your car sounds like. U.N.B.E.L.I.E.V.A.B.L.E!!!! I can't wait to begin my engine project. Hopefully the weather will start improving soon and we can have all the S.Florida vettes get together, and maybe I can bribe you into giving me a ride :D

Take care

When I bought the car - all the body modifications were done already... I think that the Mako Shark II, which was the prototype for the C3, had a tilt front. However - production C3's never came with a tilt front. I don't really know how much work is involved because all the mods were done in the 70's by the original owner!

You probably didn't read my other post about my first burnout with the new engine.. The engine has incredible power - especially above 3500 it's incredible how the car pulls.. On friday I did my first burnout and it took only approx. 1 second until I hit the RPM limiter at 6000 RPM..... The engine is the strongest engine I've ever had in any of my cars. I had a 450 HP engine in my 69' (sold) but it didn't even come close to the power of this engine. I'm really impressed!!!

Olivier

P.S. If the weather works out and I have some time - I want to get the engine dynoed this week or the following...

If you want - I can e-mail you the pics in higher resolution (1360 x 1024)

P.S. You will probably like my Vette even more as soon as I have it painted in the same color scheme as yours. BTW - what's the name of the silver used for the silver stipe?? Do you have a color code??

Olivier
