Wondering what your thoughts are on the Breakerless SE electronic ignition conversion from Lectric Limited?
Please, no lectures about how a properly set up points ignition system is just as good or better...I already know that. I just want some honest feedback on this system.

I had a 1970 L46 Distributor rebuilt by TI Specialty. The SE was recommended and installed. But I have very few miles on the distributor. tispecialty.com

I plan to order this setup for my 70 L46, unless someone has a better option or a good horror story. Maybe a better question is... has anyone installed this product and wished that had not?

I've had one ine my 72 for a couple of years, never had a single problem.
I really like the fact that it only has one wire. I also like the fact that if you leave the ignition on, you aren't going to fry the unit.
In my opinion, I think it's the best option for a points replacement system.

if you want to do that, go with Mallory unilight, been around for years and works great.

I have one installed in the original distributor in my 70. Works fine, starts instantly. The unit is actually manufactured by M&H Electrical fabricators in California.
I did have a starting issue that was unrelated to the ignition. M & H was great to work with, tested the unit along with my coil to verify compatibility, function etc. and sent me a spare module just for back up. But I also keep a set of points in the car just in case
I have heard that some of the aftermarket units can be damaged by leaving the key in the on position. The Breakerless SE is designed not to be sustain damage in this scenario according to M& H.
The Mallory Unilite takes a beating in some circles as unreliable, but I've been running one in my 68 390GT Mustang since 1994 with not even a hiccup
