Default For m21 or clutch experts
Hello gurus,

Lately my third gear pops out of gear once in a while only on low rpm under 1500. Any idea what's going on?

have you checked the shifter if it is adjusted correctly, place in neutral insert metal "tool" into shifter slot, and adjust shifter rod lengths if necessary, see link below

On my Hurst shifter I didn't have the tool, so I used a drill bit

If the shifter is fully engaging the gear, it's internal. Worn sliders or gear engagement teeth.
If you need a rebuild, get the torque lock sliders.

Is the shifter hitting the front of the console in first and third?

No. I think there was few instance where I was coming off the clutch and it popped out of third.

If you meant it pops out during deceleration, that's a classic symptom of worn sliders, engagement teeth, keys, broken spring.
