Default quadrajet numbering question

I have a quadrajet I am putting back on my 1969 coupe. I was checking the numbers to see if it was original for the car.

the numbers are 7029207 which looks correct for the car the 3rd and 4th digit decode for the year 69.

but the date code 0534, doesn't seem to be correct, it is supposed to be the julian date (53rd day of the year) and the year 4 (64, 74).

am I doing this correct shouldn't the date code end in 9?

The 7029207 carburetor was used for many years as the "service" carburetor for ALL 1968-69 small blocks, car AND truck. You'll find dates even into the late 1970's. And yes, yours was assembled on the 53rd day of 1974.

Consider yourself lucky that a PO got the proper replacement carb from a GM dealership parts counter.
