Default Electrical Problem

Good morning,

This morning I noticed the right hand low beam headlight out. I figured it was the bulb, then noticed that it lit when the high beams were turned on.

Coincidentally, the left hand turn signal indicator didn't work. I can't imagine that these things are related.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I would start at the plug on the head light and track the wires back and see where you are getting electricity. I can't help w/ it coming on when the high beams are on because I don't know that much about it but someone will pipe in.

Left hand turn signal should be easy. Take it out and see if the bulb blew. Probably just needs to be replaced. If not, see if you are getting power to it. I'm assuming you are talking about the front left blinker by the headlight. If you mean the indicator in the car, you may have a bulb out that resides in the back of the speedo/tach assembly. Can still be changed but much harder to get too.

Thats actually the way the low beam is supposed to work. The low filament is probably bad.

Hmm,

So you're saying that even the low beam lamp is a dual filament?

I always figured that they were both single filament bulbs, or why would there be 4 lamps?

I was referring to the indicator on the dash, which worked just fine a minute ago when I ran around the corner for smokes. Who knows?

The Lo-beam filament in the Lo headlamp is burned out. The Hi-beam filament in that lamp is still OK.

Replace that bulb.

Thanks,

I had no idea that the low beam bulbs had both high and low filaments in them.

I guess it's time to change over to the stock appearing halogens.

Thanks folks.
