loud muffler with 1970 original mounting form
Hi!
I´m looking for loud 1970 Corvette mufflers with original mounting form.
What kind of products are available?
I only know the Magnaflow and Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers.
Please help me!
I need a new pair of mufflers very urgently.
Best regards from Germany,
Andreas

Corvette Central exhaust system with Regular Production Option (came on Corvettes as an option from GM) RPO N-11 mufflers sound good and should survive a TUV inspection. N-11 mufflers were on high performance C2/3 Vettes including 427 solid lifter Vettes, L-88/LT-1 cars (at least my 52K mile 1970 LT-1 coupe had them from the factory.)

Thanks for the quick replies.
I currently have the Corvette Central 2,5" Deluxe Magnaflow exhaust system. After installing the Summit mid-length ceramic headers I unfortunately lost the "roar" sound at higher rpm. It´s too quiet, expecially compared with other US cars I could listen to today.
Forget the TÜV inspection... ;-) With the right person no problem at all. My Vette is REALLY quiet comapred to other old US cars, which have to be checked by the TUV every 2 years...
Are the N11 Offroad mufflers louder than the Magnaflows?
If yes, are they available seperately without the tubes?

No Magna flows would be louder. Maybe look at Borla XR series race mufflers. Borlas are pretty straight through, would also consider going to 3" muffler for louder sound more HP ( or KW whatever you want to call it.)

Pypes violators?
They do not have the same mounting points but its not hard to use other mounting ideas, mounting hardware can be gotten from them too:

The XR1 is an awesome sounding muffler and loud
Improvise if you have to for mounting
Flowmaster 40s are loud but everyone and their brother has them.
They were cool in the 80s played out imo

Hi,
the new louder mufflers shall be a direct fit.
I don´t want to weld angled input and output tubes...
The Dynomax Super Turbo and Corvette Central N11 Offroad exhausts are both quiet compared to the Magnaflows, right?
Is there anything else available, or do I have to open my Magnaflows and take away the fiber damping material?
