This magazine published by gurureports.org did a monster wax test. The did include lemon pledge for some reason, it didn't fare well. The stuff they talked about that work relly well is called Zaino, anyone use it ?

Never tried it myself, but I can remember talking to a guy at car show a few years back who did. I asked what kind of wax he used just becuase the car had such great shine and slick look and he said he always used Lemon Pledge on it

Are you talking about lemon pledge on the EXTERIOR?? I have heard of it being good for use on most interior surfaces (not plastic, esp not clear plastic) but not the car's exterior surface.
And Zaino? I use it. A lot of people on the forum are very loyal..... enthusiastic..... oh heck, the truth is there is a large FANATICAL CULT of Zaino followers on the forum! See the "car care" forum. :) MJ

Re: Lemon Pledge? (GDaina)
GDaina, you use it on the paint? Some replies suggest it only is used on the interior. I've never heard of it being used on the exterior.

Pledge? Nah, Mop-n-glo. Followed by shoe polish. Final coat of clear crispy-creme donut glaze. A little sticky, but it'll blind you on a sunny day.

Oh man - just hang out on the C5 Forum for a hour or two and there will be ten people extolling the virtues of Zaino. I have to admit, I was skeptical, but the proof is in the pudding. Best stuff I ever used on a car, not only for depth of shine, but long-term maintenance issues. Once the first coat's on, you can build the depth of shine with multiple coats until you can't believe it's your old car under that shine! They have a product for clear coat finishes and regular paint finishes - it's just harder to find a dealer - and the manufacturer doesn't take credit cards! Just do some seaching to read all about it.

Re: Lemon Pledge? (BSiegPaint)
No fooling about Lemon Pledge for the exterior. I'm 55 years old, and have been a Corvette owner for 35 years. We used to use Pledge at car shows 30+ years ago. I still use it occasionally. Gives a great shine that lasts for a SHORT time. Good for a wipe down at a car show to impress the "judges". :) Chuck

Re: Lemon Pledge? (Chuck Gongloff)
Zaino for the paint, Lexol for the leather, Lemon Pledge for the rest of the interior and door rubber (provides a nice semi-gloss vs. high gloss that ArmorAll provides) and Mother Aluminum Polish. I'll even use Lemon Pledge on the engine compartment.

I agree with Chuck G. Lemon Pledge for short term shine. Many Motorcyclists use it on chrome too...especially the guys who clean their bikes after every ride. Fast and easy..

Re: Lemon Pledge? (78MoneyPit)
The best that I have found to use is Honda Spray Cleaner and Polish. It' s in a aerosol can. I have been using this stuff for nearly 13 years on Goldwing motorcycles which are nearly all ABS. Can be used on sheet metal cars as well. It removes bugs, has wax, UV protection, good for cast aluminum wheels and chrome. It also beads water and is anti static. I also use it to remove black streaks from my RV. It really is all that good. Can be found at any Honda Cycle dealer usually around $4.60 per can. A little of it goes a long way. Hope this helps. :seeya :seeya

Re: Lemon Pledge? (78MoneyPit)
I have used it only on the front bumper/fascia area of my '95 mainly it helps to make bugs come off easier. If you use it on rest of the car it will attract dust and debris like a magnet.
Most pilots use it on the leading edge surfaces of their airplanes (small ones like Piper, Beechcraft, Cessna) for the same easier-to-get-bugs-off reason. I know for a fact that at least one airplane paint shop operation recommends using it on leading edges. Airplane paint is pretty soft/vulnerable compared to automotive paint (Dupont Imron is most common a/c paint type), so if it doesn't harm a/c enamel it shouldn't harm car paint. Just be sure to get the original formula that has actual wax in it, I think newer formulation is wax-free or something.
I think some bikers use it on the MC too...
