Default '72 LT-1 Vibration

I have a '72 LT-1 that has a vibration that makes the bolts that hold my shifter to the transmission loosen up and the shifter gets very sloppy only after a day or so. When I start out in 1st gear I get a whoooping sound like a u-joint is loose or the throw out bearing is making noise. If I push the clutch in everything is smooth, so I'm thinking it maybe a clutch, flywheel or balancer problem. Has anyone ever had this experance before. The clutch was gone when I got the car ; so I'm not sure if I did something wrong when I put the new clutch in or the problem was there when I bought the car. The flywheel was resurfaced with the new clutch. I need all the help I can get on this one.

Disconnect the driveshaft at the transmission and see if you still have the noise, if you do, it's something you did when installing the clutch, if not look at the driveshaft, half shafts and all the u-joints and rear wheel bearings.

I would also look at how good the fit is between the output yoke and the transmission tailhousing bushing.

So while going down the road, she vibrates. Then when you disengage the clutch, she stops vibrating. Correct?

Obviously, when you disengage the clutch the RPM's go down so try this. In your driveway (car stationary) push the clutch pedal down, rev her to the RPM where you feel the vibration.

Let us know if the the vibration goes away.

Default Vibration LT-1

The vibration is there at start up, but really gets strong at about 1500 rpm and more as I speed the engine up.
