Default Differences in 80-82 Differentials

I have a 81 4 speed car, it has the 2.72 gears. I have a Doug Nash 5 speed in it & have found a few 3.07 differentials from automatics. So a few questions;

1) Are the auto & the manual housings the same?

2) Are both auto & manual differentials "Dana 44"?

3) Are all 82 stub axles the same as 80-82 manual stub axles?

4) Are there differences in the Front Yoke between autos & manuals?

5) Any other differences that would sacrifice strength by using a rear from a auto?

This information seems to be tough to find. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

1. Yes
2. Yes
3. Yes
4. No
5. No. As long as it comes from an 82 automatic. The only difference is the stub axles. Be sure to check for a worn cross shaft and stripped clutches on the right side.

I think if you ordered the high performance gears with a manual in '81 you got a 2.87 also. it was a very rare option though.
