Default 7004r swap, 78 crossmember bracket

I posted in general, but moved to here;

I'm in the middle of installing the 700r4 into the 80 corvette (originally had a th350) , I am using a 78 c3 crossmember, is the a vendor or someone the can fab up a bracket that goes from the crossmember to the 700r4 transmission mount? Or any ideas if I can cut 78 trans bracket to size so it connects from member to the transmission mount? The 700r4 is from an 87 camaro Iroc. (I don't know how to weld, I'm good with cutting and drilling etc) any ideas?

I used this cross member from Bowtie overdrive on my 80 700r4 swap. It also allows true duel exhaust to be installed under it. It has a bracket to relocate the E brake cable pully on it. Its worth the money, just do it.

Do you know that you have to shorten the drive shaft 2"?

Thank you all for the replies, I'll check into both; - I know about the drive shaft (I'm pulling out all halfshafts and having the ujoints replaced).

Am hoping to use the 78 vs buying a new crossmember.

I had a muncie in my '72, and the 700 that was in there sat on the muncie pad, which hung forward off the cross member almost perfect to the muncie bolt holes.....I unsure what a thm350 used , but I"d imagine the same sort of pad....

GM put the 700R4 in the Corvette in '82. When I did mine, I got the trans mount bracket from an '82. Makes for a nice clean installation with the factory parts, but you have to have the correct tailshaft housing on the transmission. I don't know if your Camaro trans does.
