I bought mine at Home Depot. I will probably buy a chrome one and a mount from Vettedan soon.

I don't keep one in the car but I do keep on in the garage for those "carb on fire" sessions.

Speaking of fires, a few weeks ago this camaro was at a red light revving his engine and his carb shot out a bunch of fuel and his car started on fire... The driver got out and watched his car burn to the ground. :(

I have an standard size one that fits fine in the storage area behind seat, not big on the chrome thing :D

I have a small one mounted right in front of my seat and am thinking of adding another on the passenger side. After talking with an "extinguisher" guy he recommended either a larger one or to carry two. He said the small ones will only last 10-15 sec.

Vette Dan makes a great bracket to mount on in front of the seats. I got my chrome halotron extinguisher from him. Here is a link to the C3 exinguishers and a pic from his site of my car. It took me my first fire to realize you need an extinguisher in an old car.

I have one in front of my seat, attached to the seat with two velcro straps. Besides being an essential safety item, I think it looks racey  (not ricey ;) )

I keep a fire extinquisher in every one of my vehicles, not just the vette.
I learned real quick that fire is not your friend. I had just filled my '74 Kawasaki H1 ( 500cc triple ) and kicked it over to start it. POOF!!! I was sitting on the bike with a large fire between my legs, for about .2 of a second. Luckily a garden hose was near and I put the bike out. Had to replace the oil injection lines but everything else was fine. The burns marks even compounded out of the paint.
That came off the list of fun things to do.
