OK, just installed a VB&P rear composite spring, 330# Sport, center mount.

Took car for a test drive about 40 miles, city, rural roads, highway ect. The rear seems springy. Not excessive but noticable in comparison to the original 7 leaf steel spring. I've read these springs work best in concert with blisteen gas shocks. Is this true?? The shocks I have are std. GM type.

Any help welcome.

I have the KYB/VBP GR-2 shocks designed for use with that spring. They do indeed work very well.

You need new shocks in the rear. Any good shock should eliminate any 'bouncy' response from your new suspension. And, if you want the best, get Bilstein "Sport" shocks for the rear. They will hold it down snug to the road. If you replace all 4 shocks, Bilstein "Heavy-Duty" shocks would be best in the front end.

The rear shocks need to be replaced with a shock designed for a composite spring , not a steel spring.
