Default Burnt fiberglass repair

I have a few places on my Vette body that was damaged in a home fire. I have removed the paint-primer and noticed that there is still some black areas.... how far should I sand down the fiberglass for repair.

If anyone has repaired heat damaged Vette bodys please let me know how it went and any advice.

Thanks, Kevin

Generally speaking, you should grind or cut out anything that is burnt or heat damaged and replace it. My advice is to use good resin. The West stuff works well for fiberglass work. Get the pumps to give the proper mix ratio. There are others. Look at the products the boat people use for repairs.
