18/19 C6 Wheels on an 80 with adapter specs
#42
Since we're showing off, I put these on last year just to check the fit and stance, I still need to lower the car, but so far I like the look. Adapters are Hub and wheel centric 2.75" front and 3.5" rear. With this spacing on the rear, I have approx. 1 1/4" between the tire and the frame, and a fat 1/4" between the tire and the sway bar.

Literally just hung up the phone with Lenny at Motorsport Tech after placing my order.
I went with..
73mm - 2.87" front
82mm - 3.23" rear
Let's hope it works out!

Based on everyone's pictures and specs, I really liked the flush front wheels like vette427 so I went more then the 2.75 like the rest of you guys and more then I thought I would, but bumped it down just a tad from his specs.
I also plan to run the car pretty hard so don't want to worry about some flexing etc. and have the rears rub on the inside. On the flip side I'd still like to keep them tucked within the quarter's lip.
I think I should be pretty close. We'll see how it turns out.

Id be interested to see how yours fits! I think you should be right on the money if you get a "narrow" 285 tire. Definitely post up pics when you get them on
As for half shafts, at the first lowering they were level. The slammed stance put them at a bit of an angle up. Not bad for cruising, but not ideal for performance.

What a great thread!! I know a guy who has a set of C5 wheels. I would rate them 8-9 of a 10. He doesn't know what he has and will sell all four to me for $50. I was not sure if they would fit my 76 and was reluctant to buy them but after reading this thread I have faith they can be made to work with no worries. Thanks to the OP for starting this.

The rim sizes are 17 x 8.5 (front) and 18 x 9.5 (rear). I don't know what the offsets are. Can anyone advise the offset dimentions, recommend tire sizes (to get close to stock dia.) and what spacer thickness would be proper?? I want to stay with the stock trailing arms.
Thanks.

I am looking at 18x9.5 rim in back...probably 285/40...I was told by vansteel
stock parking brake and sway bar will NOT work...
you guys with the 18s C5/C6...what did you do??
THanks,
Ron

would prefer to have stock trailing arms, parking brake, and rear sway bar...

18x10.5 c5 z06 wheels outback on mine. Relocated ebrake and I shortened my fiberglass monoleaf. I probably didn't have to shorten the already shortened monoleaf, but if gave me peace of mind.

I used 2.75in adapters with my 18x9s didn't move e brake cable, sway bar was already disconnected.
