I have a trans back from the rebuilder. borg warner super t10. 1st to second perfect smooth shift. When shifting to third it feels like it fully engages but no third. Shift to 4th fine. Back to third, not there. New hurst comp plus shifter. On the lift it appears the third gear shift lever fully travels and yet no third gear..

Can the sliders be installed backwards? They are offset.

Any suggestions before I yank it back out? Thanks

Get under the car. Disconnect the shift rods from the 3/4 lever (front one). Put the lever in third (to the rear). See if it engages. If not, call the guy who rebuilt it if you have not already. I would be amazed if he did not check to see if all gears engaged after rebuilding it.
