AC retrofit with Sanden compressor. High pressure release valve question.
I just changed my old r4 compressor for Sanden 508. My old R4 had high pressure release valve on the back and new Sanden doesn't have it. It just has untapped plug for it. Do I really need it the valve? Or I can just relay on AC pressure switch to kill compressor clutch before pressure goes to high?

Burning Brakes
I am planning on replacing my r4 with a Sanden in a 78. Which had a leak at the rear cover relief valve plug. Where did you get the Sanden compressor?

Compressor from ebay and since I converted to serpentine belt I needed a bracket from vintage air.
I also replaced drier/accumulator, orifice tube and all O rings.
Overall easy job.
