Oil pressure gage leaking
I'm about to put a new radio in and when I opened up the gage panel bezel I saw in back it was a bit wet all around. Sure enough the gage has got a small leak somewhere in the connection.
Don't know why since compression fitting was brand new when installed and everything is tight.
Looking for ideas on any quick fixes. THX

Disconnect it, look for any burrs or anything that doesnt look right, reconnect and test before putting everything back together.

You'll probably get lots of opinions on this, but I got tired of the ferrules leaking and replaced with braided kit from Summit. You'll also need a 1/8" flare fitting for the gauge to the adapter in the kit. The other adapter in the kit goes to the block. I used it on my LS swap to keep my original gauge. So far it's dry.

Hope this helps.

So I just pushed the ferral thingy back an inch and cut the plastic line for a new cut. Looks like that did the trick. Now radio is going in tonight.

If the compression fitting was propperly installed, I don't think you should have been able to 'push it back'. When you tighten a compression fitting, isn't the ferrule supposed to compress on the line? I believe you should of had cut off the existing ferrule, and install a new one.

Should have taken a better pic when I had it out, but this is the 1/8" flare fitting in the stock gauge to -4AN braided hose fitting. I agree, the ferrule should not have come off it was "crushed" correctly.

Hmmm...you guys have a point. Maybe the compression fitting never got crushed correctly until now. That might explain it, not sure.
But I have been monitoring it now for 2 days with no leaks so I think it will be OK. ThX
