I thought I would post this new crate motor because I've been ordering parts for this engine separately. Im now considering sending all of the parts to Shafiroff and let them put it together. They also just came out with a pump gas BBC 598 crate with SR20 heads and a hyd roller cam with 1000hp.

It's all forged but for $395 you can upgrade to Manley forged components. I have one engine from these guys, (SBC 427) and am happy with it. Thinking about a 434 for my 68 Coupe.

A little over $15,000 with the carb and Manley crank and rod upgrade. Nice, AFR heads and TD shaft rockers. Solid component list.

Nice to see a crate with all the parts listed...and all the right parts
I might nit-pick a few on personal preference, but nothing there that raises any flags. Not cheap, but nothing in that power range is.

That head requires on offset lifter. An .842" diameter lifter with a .150/.180" offset is going to have a short life. To ensure that engine has some longevity it needs .903" lifters in it.
