Default Fuel Pump?

Replaced intake and Carb. Now there is no fuel pumping to carb. I have a clear filter leading to the carb. Yesterday I could see fuel building up in the filter. Now I have nothing. Never got a chance to start car after replacement parts. Oh car ran before any changes. 1978 L82. It was dark when I finished installing carb and intake and I thought it was the TDC thing so I waited until today to try again. Could the pump go out just like that? Thanks in advance for the help .... Rodney

Original pump? Yes it could fail. Maybe it was on its way before the carb change. What prompted the carb/intake replacement?

Disconnect the line before the fuel filter and crank the engine make sure you have a catch can for any fuel.

If it is the original pump. Check your oil level to make sure you did not pump fuel into the crank case.

that's your first concern then fill the carb vent with fuel if all checks out. Fire it up and then watch your filter. Sometimes just cranking does build enough suction to pull fuel from the tank.

Yes original pump. Just wanted to change everything. There is no fuel inside clear filter. Will check oil level tomorrow. Someone said I have to prime carb and get it fired up for pump to work. Thanks for the responses....Rodney

Default Faulty Carb

Well the Holley Carb I had rebuilt was either faulty or out of adjustment. I bought a brand new 80457S and a couple turns of the key Vroooooom!! Didn't need fuel pump after all. Thanks everyone.
