what size are the side freeze plugs on a 427 motor?

Poked around on Ebay. A few sellers list the sizes of their freeze plugs. So I checked a few sellers and for a 396 and 427 their kit contains:

(8) 1 3/4” Brass Cup Style Freeze Plugs. This is the answer to your question.

(1) 2 7/32” Steel Cup Style Freeze Plug

(7) ¼” NPT Steel Pipe Plugs
