Default Rear Storage Light

Can't believe I'm asking this but how do you get the rear storage light cover off without breaking it? Mine is really brittle but I prefer to reuse it if possible. I tried gently prying around the edges to see where the "tabs" are but dont really see them. I put rubber gloves on for traction, pulled really hard but no dice.

Hi Kevin,
Squeeze the 4 corners (upper and lower, not sides) with your fingers and the lens will deflect enough for the 'tabs' to release.

Alan

Thanks guys, I finally got it out without breaking, came back after lunch to do some work in the baggage compartment and put my elbow thru it. Forty years it survived and I broke it after being out one hour!!??
You win some, Kevin

That plastic lens gets mighty hard after 40+ years. It can be a real 'bear' to remove without it cracking from the pressure. The 'trick' is to know where the retaining tabs are so that you can pry immediately above them to get the most deflection right at the tab location.

As I recall, those tabs are near the corners, on the top and bottom, about 3/8" from each corner.
