Default T56 bellhousing from McLeod

I am mating a LS1 T56 (modified LT1 T56 actually) to my SBC 383 in my project car.

I have been looking for a good deal on a scattershield that allows me to use the hydraulic throw out bearing mounted on the input shaft.

I know that Quicktime model 6023 works but it runs $600.

Found this McLeod version on eBay.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/130917860165?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Has anyone used this version?

Why does it have two domes - one on each side? I figure one is for the starter but what is the purpose of the one on the driver's side?

Thanks for any input.

For a starter mounted on the opposite side. That BH probably has a couple of different applications.
BTW quicktime BH's are expensive because they are worth it IMO. Make sure you check that Lakewood for centering the input pilot

That was what I thought about the starter but I wanted to see if anyone used this model. And if that starter dome on the driver's side interferred with installing it in a vette.

BTW.......McLeod is not made nor owned by Lakewood.......
Quicktime is part of Lakewood Industries.

I searched and searched, here is the cheapest place I could find the Quicktime 6023. I installed this in my car behind a Gen 1 block with the hyd clutch. If you go through with It feel free to ask anything. it is still very fresh, I just started the car for the first time last night.

I have the McCleod one. That ad says LS1?
Using the one for the LTx trans. Nice piece didnt need to do anything funky bolted right in trans slipped right in. Seems to have more clearance than the stock one just know if you have a 7at pan youll need the pf454 (I have to loosen my header still to take it off on a different car though). The block saver is a good think imo. Hated spending the money but never worry about my feet getting blown off

Looks like that bell has the cutout for the fork, if so, you may need to make a cover to keep out debris.

Have you changed the front cover and input shaft of your lt1 trans?I got rid of the lt1 trans I had because it was too much of a pita and expensive to mate to an old style two piece steal sbc.

Thanks for the link.
That is the cheapest price I have seen on that model.
What TOB setup did you use?
Thanks for the info.

Not yet.
I picked up the LT-1 version last fall for $900 and UPS damaged it.
The trans needed an overhaul anyway.
So they sent me $800 for the repairs.
Going to send it to TDP in Texas for Stage 2 overhaul, change the front plate and input shaft and replace the damaged rear extension.
Then it will be basically a overhauled LS-1 with a 2.67 first gear which will go real well with my 4.11 rear.
Thanks for your question.
Did you install your trans yet and what kind of TOB setup did you use?

Picked up a Quicktime 6023 on ebay for $500. Was a show sample.

Now I just need the best hydraulic TOB setup as I don't want to pull that 150# transmission more than once.

Suggestions?
