Default help me ID this custom front end

just bought a 68 vert with a one piece custom front end with the headlights tucked up in the grille car is a 327 auto car that was rescued. frame is in nice shape, car has a nice stance.

looking to do the following build (2 options)

full resto mod
SRIII motorsports frame
4.8 twin turbo using c6 turbo custom manifolds as the base
4l80E with tci or pcs shift box with paddles
c5 style backbone torq tube (shortened if needed)

I have z06 c5 electric fans, and need to upgrade the rad and interior ect

using megasquirt as the ECM with autometer old school gauge package

the other opetion is a bit more "old school pro street"

496 chevy with m3 prochager (marine engine blower)
air water intercooler
probably use a single plane chevy with a nice blow through E85 CSI carb

stay with the stock frame (which is really nice) and beef up the rear with a modular 9" ford

I have both engine combos on the stand, and I have the M3 blower

got a killer deal on the car. I'm looking to just tune up and fix and rebuild the 327 now while I pay off the car and get the build decision made

pysched to be working on a nice looking c3

I have an LPE LSV ZR-1 (508 rwhp)

and a twin turbo Z06 (800 full boogie tiger shark)

but there is something very intoxicating about the c3 look and this custom car found me at the OC car show. she's mine now!!

Like you said, It is a custom front end. I don't think that is a mass produced front end. It is more likely a one piece that someone decided to highly modify. It looks good though a little weird not seeing the doors for the headlights. Good luck with it.

I didn't initially but I really like the look. gives the car a very clean appearance with no parting lines for the hood

glass is thinner than stock too and it saves all the vacuum cans and brackets for the pop up headlights

I think at one time ecklers made a tilt front end back in the mid 70s

this might be one of those, not sure it's definitely a single part not a "conversion" as there are no lines underneath where the headlight buckerts used to be.

time to fix this one up!

Oh wow, brings back old memories of custom corvettes in Car Craft & Hot Rod. If it was mine I would fix, restore, repair whats there - very cool.

I'm a sucker for killer C3's,Ron. I'll probably enjoy this build as much as your future LSV refresh.

Just to answer the original question; it's an Eckler's front end.

All the major Fiberglass vendors made one piece front ends and some probably still do. Both Tilt and Bonded like stock, with or with out the Headlight cut outs. You could take a car that had the front end munched, have the frame straightened, bolt or bond on a one piece front end and be up and running with 1/4 of the work of using OEM Fiberglass and bonding strips. If You went with no cut outs then there was no expensive Headlight assemblies to buy and fit. I have a project car with all of the above as well.
