Default Some great news from Lars...about my carb...

Sent my original Q-Jet from the 454 to Lars, which he received today.
He also let me know that it is rebuildable and may be without any issues.... That made my day.....thank you Lars....now if I can only find my distributor............................. ..........Tom

That's great news....While Lars is rebuilding it, you can relax and get some other things done with a clear mind.

Ohhh...be sure to take lots of pics.......

as I would like to see what a clear mind looks like!

Take some pics of the car also.

SSROADSTER,
I see your in Warrington
I'm just down the street in Horsham.

I'd love to see your carb after you get it back.
Mine desparately needs to go to lars.

I just hate to loose the car during prime cruising season.

Marshal, not a problem.....yes we are neighbors....
will keep you posted. I know there are alot of cruise nights and shows in the next few weeks. Don't think I will make the Corvette show next Saturday, want to have as much day time out at the 74 as possible.
But I will probably take the ZR-1 to the Lowes parking (611 Warrington) lot Saturday evening. Maybe can catch up with you there.......Tom

Default carb is done.....

Just received an email from Lars saying that the carb rebuild is complete and ready to ship.....
He also had this to say about the carb:
"The carb checked out really well after correcting some setup issues. I ran it through all modes of operation from cold-start, hot re-start, idle, and no-load cruise. I also tested for secondary operations and WOT transition. Idle is glass smooth, off-idle response is crisp, and mixtures are right where they should be. This is a rare carb in exceptionally well preserved condition, and it runs perfectly - I think you'll have some fun with it."

To say I am excited is an understatement, although it is a very slow process, the 74 Vert is starting its comeback and hopefully will be on the road soon. Decided to go with a roller cam, and rockers, so the engine should be interesting to say the least. Have to update my restoration thread soon.

Thanks again Lars, can't wait to get everything back together soon.

I hope to send him my 7044221 .for the same treatment...it's never been off car at least since I've owned it. I can t seem to stop driving long enough to send it out. Maybe this fall.

just received mine back today, did not even open the box yet....
Depending on his work load, it shouldn't take too long, you'll just have to give that LS4 a rest.....
Now if I can only find my distributor....,

And Lars, thank you for the rebuild, off to the garage to open.....
