Rockers that fit under stock L82 valve covers
I am putting in a new cam in my L 82 and when I do the new heads also I am putting in new rockers but am told a full roller rocker will be too high for my stock L82 valve covers, and i am keeping my stock valve covers.any advice on a good rocker for this set up with a good spring pressure rocker?thanks in advance for any ideas, jerry

I have AFR 195 heads and use Crane Energy roller rockers with my original L-82 covers without any interference issues. The AFR's have a raised rail where the valve covers seat which obviously helps and negates the use of double gaskets or valve cover spacers.

Most rollers will fit. It is the lock nut style that causes most problems with installing the valve covers. Also, if you have valve covers with the drippers, they may have to be ground down. They are not needed for rollers anyway.

The baffles in the VCs will interfere. Need to remove them or "crush" them so they fit between the rocker arms. I used Scorpion rollers with the short Nylocks on my L82 with AFR heads. You may run into an issue with the AC bracket, and Air pump bracket / valve cover interference. Nothing major, just requires some grinding.

Thanks for your input it sounds like they will work one way or another each roller is unique to itself if I get lucky they will fit if not I'll have to buy a 3/4" spacer the less thick spacer the better I think.
