Default Turn Signal Repair on a 1968

The turn signal lever will not stay on right or left, I have to hold it in position. The turn signal lights work ok. My question, is the mechanism that locks the lever and unlocks it when steering is turned, a separate mechanism from the switch? Is all I need the "Turn Signal Actuating Cam", P/N 49920 at Eckler's? Thanks for any information.

Default

This is what will probably fix your turn signals. That's probably the same part you have above. This is what locks the level in place when you move the lever up or down.
